Iran Boasts Self-Sufficiency in Port. Shipping Equipment

Foreign shipping companies took their containers out of the Islamic Republic of Iran this year and created serious problem for Iran’s maritime industry in exports sector but the country has managed to manufacture standard containers relying upon high technical knowhow of domestic industrialists and using scientific ability of its knowledge-based companies. Eslami said. in a local ceremony in the central city of Isfahan.

He highlighted that the needed technologies were acquired after relying upon domestic capabilities with letting internal knowledge-based companies unleash their potentials and capacities.

Despite US sanctions imposed against the country. the country has managed to continue its way towards development and progress in international arenas. the road minister emphasized.

Attaining the technologies of aviation industry was the toughest in the roads and urban development sector. he said. adding. relying upon the assistance of the Almighty God. we managed to attain these technologies.

Late in July. Head of Iran`s Ports and Maritime Organization Mohammad Rastad announced that his country’s ports have witnessed a 19.6 percent rise in trans-shipping goods in the 4-month span up to July 22. adding that the growth has been achieved in the face of the United States` unilateral sanctions against Tehran which entail restrictions on the country’s maritime activities.

Rastad had downplayed in February the US pressures and sanctions against his country`s shipping and marine industry.

Iranian officials started planning for policies to counter the US possible sanctions a year before Donald Trump entered into office in early 2017. The policies are now proving effective as economic indexes are indicating inefficacy of the US pressures.
