A Geological Disposal Facility will put waste hundreds of metres deep underground and will only be built where there is both a ‘willing community and a suitable site.

That’s the warning offered in a new report from think tank Green Alliance. which claims sectors like transport. buildings and industry are way behind on implementing effective carbon-reduction strategies.

The government has also committed to set a legally binding target to reduce fine particulate matter. the pollutant of greatest harm to human health.

Projects include using AI to develop more efficient food supply chains and an AI-based thermal imaging service to help reduce greenhouse gas emissions from households.
