Iran Capable to Meet EU`s Energy Needs

Energy Ministry can export the highest amount of electricity to the European Union countries to meet their power demands. said Iranian Deputy Energy Minister Alireza Daemi.
He said Iran has the highest capacities to supply the EU with their electricity demands.
He reiterated that Iran has also the highest potentials to develop its wind and solar renewable energies.
Three fourths of Iran is located in the Central Plateau with high level of solar radiation which gives great potential to the country in the field of renewable energies. Daemi said.
The Iranian deputy energy minister noted that Iran ranks first in terms of producing electricity in the region.
Iran is turning to renewable energy forms in order to avoid the side effects of generating power in traditional ways. Daemi added.
Iran lies on the solar belt that is between 25 and 40 degrees Northern latitude.
Iran has 300 sunny days in a year. Approximately 70 percent of the Iranian soil is capable of exploiting solar energy.
In the hottest parts of the country. it is possible to generate 6 kilowatt hours of electricity per square meter.
