No Electricity Supply to Iraq in Near Future

Mohammad Bagher Nobakht made the remarks in his weekly presser on Tuesday during which he said that Iran used to supply electricity to Iraq earlier this year but due to the shortages in the country. it does not intend to resume the supplies to the neighboring country in the current situation.

Earlier this month. Iran has cut electricity supplies to Iraq due to unpaid bill. affecting Iraq’s Dhi Qar. Maysan and Basra provinces.

The government spokesman also reacted to the western media claim that said that Israeli regime’s agents had stolen nuclear-related documents from a site in the suburb of Tehran. saying that such claims were made few months ago calling them false.

Elsewhere in his remarks. Nobakht said that the US`s attempts to reduce Iran oil exports to zero will fail. saying that the government is trying to maintain the current level of oil exports and will not accept any restrictions other than those of the OPEC. 

With regard to some media reports inside that country claiming that the International Atomic Agency (IAEA) inspectors were given access to inspect Tehran universities. the government spokesman referred the reporters to the head of Iran’s atomic body Ali Akbar Salehi.
