New Iranian Ambassador to Kuwait in an interview with Kuwaiti newspaper Al-Nahar emphasized the importance of expanding trade and economic relations between the two neighboring countries.

`Kuwait is one of the most important countries in our neighborhood. which has long-standing social relationships and family ties with it and we therefore need to use all the economic. commercial and political capacities of the two countries.` Mohammad Irani said.
The Iranian ambassador pointed out. `Our opposition to the invasion of Kuwait by the former Iraqi regime and its occupation reflects the interest of the Islamic Republic of Iran in the stability and security of Kuwait. which is the basis for the development of bilateral political and economic relations.`
He said about the return of relations between the two countries to the normal state of the past. `We are passing from the stage of misunderstanding that was created in the past. and we hope to enter a new stage according to the wise vision of the Kuwaiti Emir and the will of the two governments in a way that we can expand relationships in other areas.`
In response to a question about the Yemeni crisis and its future. Irani emphasized the importance of ending the civil war in the country and supported ongoing efforts to establish a ceasefire and dialogue between the parties involved.
Mohammad Irani submitted his credentials to Emir of Kuwait Sheikh Sabah Al Ahmad as Iran`s ambassador to Kuwait City in an official ceremony held at Al-Bayan Palace on December 17.
At the ceremony. Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah welcomed the Iranian ambassador at the beginning of his official mission. and said. `We consider Iran as our neighbor in the region and we are interested in developing and expanding our beneficial cooperation with Tehran.`
The Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran in Kuwait. after giving his credentials. conveyed Iranian President`s greeting message to Sheikh Sabah al-Ahmad and described the relations between the two countries as friendly and brotherly.
