40% Decline in Iran’s Trade with China

Iran’s commercial exchanges with China amounted to $5.26 billion during January-April to register a 40.6% decline compared with the 2019 corresponding period.
As data from the General Administration of Customs of the People’s Republic of China show, Iran’s exports to China during the four months totaled $2.34 billion, indicating a 61.2% decrease year-on-year.
This is while China exported $2.92 billion worth of commodities to Iran in four months, up by 3.2% YOY.
Iran-China trade hit $1.32 billion in April. Iran’s exports to China accounted for $526.24 million of the figure while imports from China stood at $796.07 million.
