Iran’s aim to cooperate with Sweden is to adopt that country’s latest technologies in the areas of water and power. said Minister of Energy Hamid Chitchian.
Chitchian made the remarks in a meeting held here Sunday with the visiting Swedish Minister for EU Affairs and Trade Ann Linde.
In the meeting. Chitchian expressed hope that the Swedish companies would find their proper partners in Iran to provide grounds for further trade exchanges.
The presence of the Swedish Prime Minister Stefan Löfven and different companies from that country in Iran is an indication of the two sides’ determination to develop economic and political ties. the minister noted.
He added Tehran respects relations with Stockholm. saying the two have had good cooperation in the fields of water and electricity during the past years.
Chitchian stressed that Iran’s precondition for promotion of cooperation with Sweden is Stockholm`s investment in Iran and financing the projects.
For her part. the Swedish minister said her country can share experiences in renewable energies with Iran.
She added Stockholm attaches importance to its ties with Tehran. stressing her country stood by Iran even in the sanctions era.
Anti-Iran sanctions were lifted on January16. 2016.
The Swedish prime minister heading a high ranking delegation arrived in Tehran on Friday evening.
