Iran to Speed up Exports of Knowledge-Based Products to Russia

Iranian Vice-President for Science and Technology Sorena Sattari announced that exports of products manufactured by his nation`s knowledge-based companies will further increase to Russia.

`Presence of 70 Iranian knowledge-based companies in two Russian cities (Yekaterinburg and Moscow) and in two meetings is unprecedented. Fortunately. a good platform is being built for exports between Iran and Russia. specially in the field of the knowledge-based firms which need a special literature for the development of their exports and this can accelerate it.` Sattari told reporters after participating in a trade and technology meeting in Moscow on Saturday.

Representatives from scores of Iranian and Russian knowledge-based firms and innovation companies. in a meeting in Moscow. discussed ways to increase mutual cooperation.

The 1st meeting of the Iranian and Russian knowledge-based and innovative companies started work with the attendance of Sattari and Iran`s Ambassador to Russia Mehdi Sanayee.

Over 70 Iranian knowledge-based companies are accompanying Sattari in his visit to Russia.

The Iranian delegation is scheduled to hold talks with Russian counterparts.

Iranian firms hope that they would be able to achieve good agreements with Russian sides. to pave the way for joint investment in information technology and knowledge-based companies and to cause developing non-oil exports.

Sanayee earlier said that the knowledge-based firms have presented great achievements in many fields.

Russia is determined to increase its economic interactions with Iran regardless of the US’ unilateral sanctions and pressures.

On Tuesday. Russian Permanent Representative to the European Union Vladimir Chizhov stated that Russia will ignore US sanctions against Iran and continue to trade with it without creating any special mechanisms.

`Our colleagues here (in Brussels) sometimes ask why Russia and China do not create their own INSTEX (Instrument in Support of Trade Exchanges). To that we answer with the question: why do we need it? We have already traded and will trade without paying any attention to US sanctions.` Chizhov underlined.
