The value of non-oil trade exchanges between Iran and China has reached $5.23 billion in January-April, 2023, according to figures by the Chinese customs office.
Trade between Iran and China had increased by 4% in value terms in January-April compared to the same period last year, the figures showed.
The rise in trade were mostly due to an increase in Chinese exports to Iran, showed the customs figures which indicated that shipments had risen by 46% to $3.71 billion in the four months to April.
The customs figures showed that Iran’s exports to China reached $1.52 billion in January-April.
Iran-China trade in April reached some $1.183 billion, said the report, adding that Chinese exports to Iran had increased by 30 percent to reach $797 million while imports from Iran fell by 30% to $386 million over the period.
Iranian customs figure show China was Iran’s largest trading partner in the calendar year to late March. The East Asian country imported some $14.584 billion worth of goods from Iran while its exports to Iran reached $15.744 billion over the same period.
