Akakus oil operations company said oil production at Sharara oilfield had reached 190.000 barrels per day (bpd), adding that operation work was ongoing for the third day in a row by Libyans since the resumption of operations last Monday.
The company expected that Sharara oilfield would reach its normal production rate, 280.000 bpd next Friday after finishing maintenance at (Station S-T).
The company resumed work after a halt due to the closure of Hamada ‘Rayaniya” valve by a group of southwestern Petroleum Facilities Guard members, who demanded financial dues and work positions before allowing the reopening on Monday after a meeting with government officials.
