TotalEnergies has bought a majority stake in two offshore wind projects in Denmark from European Energy and both companies agreed to cooperate on offshore wind auctions in the Scandinavian nation.
Under the agreement, the French energy company takes an 85% stake in the 240 MW Jammerland Bugt project and a 72% stake in the 165 MW Lillebaelt Syd project – both due to become operational by 2030.
Electricity produced from the wind farms will be sold via power purchase agreements, the companies said in a joint statement on Tuesday.
TotalEnergies and European Energy said they would form a joint venture to bid on offshore wind tenders in Denmark.
The Nordic nation is due to tender 6 GW of new offshore capacity later this year.
