The construction of the gas pipeline should begin in 2018 and be completed by the end of 2019. The line will be 1.220 km long.
Ukraine is fiercely opposing the construction of Nord Stream 2. According to earlier estimates by Naftogaz CEO Andriy Kobolyev. Nord Stream 2 does not contribute to diversification of gas supplies to the European Union and does not provide it with access to new energy sources. On April 5. 2018. the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine called on the international community to do everything possible to ban the construction of the Nord Stream-2 gas pipeline bypassing Ukraine.
