Rosneft Develops Cooperation with Japanese Suppliers

Rosneft Oil Company has held a seminar on the organisation of the company’s procurement activities in the format of a video conference. The event was attended online by representatives of more than 20 leading Japanese suppliers and contractors.

The seminar was arranged as subject to the agreements achieved at the first meeting of the Joint Coordination Committee of Rosneft and the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy of Japan in January 2020.

The event was supported by the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy of Japan, the Trade Mission of the Russian Federation in Japan, as well as by the Keidanren Japan Business Federation and the Japan Association for Trade with Russia and the Newly Independent States (ROTOBO).

The seminar participants discussed the organisational process for the procurement activities of Rosneft and opportunities for expanding the cooperation in procurement. Special focus was made on the participation of foreign suppliers in tenders hosted by the TEK-Torg online trading platform.

As a result of the seminar, the parties agreed to continue cooperation, including taking into account the proposals made by Japanese companies during the meeting.

Memorandum on the Establishment of the Joint Coordination Committee between Rosneft and the Agency for Natural Resources and Energy of Japan was signed during the 5th Eastern Economic Forum in Vladivostok in 2019 with the purpose to develop strategic energy cooperation and to implement new joint projects.
