The Norwegian Petroleum Directorate (NPD) last week granted Equinor a drilling permit for wellbores 34/6-6 S and 34/6-6 A, expected to be drilled in November and December 2022, respectively. The prospect is named Angulata Brent.
Both wells are located in production licence 554, between Garantiana and Visund fields. The licence is operated by Equinor with a 40 per cent interest and its partners are Vår Energi and Aker BP with a 30 per cent interest each.
The wells will be drilled using the Transocean Spitsbergen semi-submersible rig. The duration of drilling operations is estimated at 76 days.
The rig is under a long-term contract with Equinor and the Norwegian company has recently exercised a one-well option at $316,000 per day.
