IAEA Mission to Visit Zaporizhzhya NPP this

An International Atomic Energy Agency (IAEA) mission will visit the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant this week, IAEA Director General Rafael Grossi said.
“Proud to lead this mission which will be in the Zaporizhzhya Nuclear Power Plant later this week,” Grossi said on a social network.
He said the mission, which aims to support and assist the Zaporizhzhya NPP, was on its way.
“We must protect the safety and security of Ukraine’s and Europe’s biggest nuclear facility,” Grossi said.
The Zaporizhzhya NPP is the largest nuclear power plant in Europe. It operates six VVER-1000 reactor units, the first of which was put into operation in December 1984 and the sixth in October 1995.
Currently, Russian forces are partially in control of the Zaporizhzhya region as a result of the special military operation in Ukraine.
