Iran successfully tested an experimental implementation of Saman orbital transmission system with a sub-orbital space probe, Ministry of Information and Communications Technology said on Tuesday.
Iranian Space Agency, in collaboration with Aerospace Industries Organization of Defense Ministry, successfully launched and tested a trial implementation of Saman orbital transmission system which is used to change the orbit of satellites.
The system also carried a sub-orbital space probe.
The performance of subsystems of the engineering implementation of Saman system had been tested in near-space conditions and the result proved correct in operation conditions and high altitude.
Ministry of ICT said that advanced systems used in designing and building Saman are a monopoly of a few countries and this launch is considered to be an important phase in developing this system domestically in Iran.
