Iranian Energy Minister Reza Ardekanian on Tuesday described his talks with senior Iraqi officials, including Prime Minister Mustafa al-Kadhimi during his visit to Baghdad as constructive and successful.
Ardekanian and his accompanying delegation left Baghdad for Tehran late on Tuesday after day-long intensive talks with the Iraqi high-ranking officials.
During his stay in Iraq, Ardakanian and Iraqi Trade Minister Alla Ahmed al-Jabouri in a meeting in Baghdad underlined the need to expand bilateral relations, specially in the field of economy.
During the meeting in the Iraqi capital on Tuesday, the two ministers discussed bilateral relations and cooperation in the economic and trade fields.
Ardakanian also discussed holding Iran-Iraq joint commission in line with the common interests of the two countries.
Aradakanian arrived in Iraq on Tuesday morning and was welcomed by Iraqi Electricity Minister Majid Mahdi Hantoush.
During his meeting with Hantoush, The Iranian energy minister discussed the bilateral relations between Iran and Iraq, as well as the issues of electricity and energy.
