Poland is Building the Largest Offshore Wind Farm in the EU

Polish group Orlen has started constructing an onshore substation for the future Baltic Power wind farm in the Baltic Sea, which is scheduled to become operational in 2026. The company plans to start the first installation work at sea in 2024.
The Baltic Power offshore wind farm will consist of 76 turbines with a unit capacity of 15 MW and a height of over 200 meters. The station will be located approximately 23 km from the coast. After commissioning, the wind farm will be able to supply more than 1.5 million households with electricity.
As of 2023, only the UK has offshore wind turbine farms larger than this.
