Russia’s gas production will be growing through 2030 and is expected to total from 846 bln cubic meters to around 1.03 trillion cubic meters in 2030, according to the draft general plan for development of the country’s gas sector through 2035 obtained by TASS.
Russia produced 739 bln cubic meters of gas in 2019, whereas in 2020 gas output decreased to 689 bln cubic meters amid the coronavirus pandemic.
According to the gas balance, Russia’s gas production is to reach 777-890 bln cubic meters in 2025, and from 850 bln cubic meters to 1.057 trillion cubic meters in 2035.
Meanwhile LNG output may climb almost four-fold by 2035 compared with 2020. Particularly, Russia produced 41.5 bln cubic meters of liquified gas last year, whereas by 2035 the country’s liquified gas production may grow to 90-158 bln cubic meters.
Export of pipeline gas is expected at 250-324 bln cubic meters in 2035, according to the document.
