China National Offshore Oil Corporation (CNOOC) announced its first intelligent factory to produce marine gas and oil extraction equipment has been put into operation, Xinhua News Agency reported on Sunday, marking a breakthrough in the manufacturing digitalization of the field.
China’s first factory for marine gas and oil extraction equipment has a designed annual capacity of 84,000 tons, and is equipped with dock for various ships including floating production storage and offloading (FPSO) and liquid natural gas (LNG) carriers, making the factory a multifunctional innovation base.
The factory is equipped with over 400 sets of intelligent production machines that can cover all phases of production, decreasing manpower levels as well as the risk of danger and increasing the overall efficiency by over 20 percent.
The factory was developed by a research team with over 200 engineers along with China’s top universities and institutions, applying about 10 latest technologies to fill the blank of the aspect, said CNOOC.
